I've been thinking of upgrading my Passport 7500 to the new 7500S. One thing I've noticed is that the SmartCord, which is a must buy for convenience, has a tendency to crack and lose its rubber sheathing over time. Most likely this is due to the heat of the sun. If I get a chance I'll probably get one of those companies that do honda engine swaps to beef up my honda. That way I can get even more speeding tickets. :)

A little off-tangent today. I cracked the water pump in my car a few days ago. While I was looking for a good NAPA auto parts dealer on the web, I found a vendor in Canada that will give you a price quote with 24 hours on any part they carry. They also ship internationally. The name of the company is Big Dave's Auto Parts Store. Give them a look before buying any expensive parts for your car.

I found a great web site for information on radar detectors and radar detector detectors (that�s right, law enforcement devices that can tell if you are using a radar detector). MotorTrend.com has posted an article with some solid information on laser and radar jammers. Pay special attention to the warning on using a radar jammer. It will be interesting to see how long laser jammers stay off the government and police agencies hot list for outlawed devices.

Here�s an article to make you worry or give you hope. An article on the web site for the Philadelphia Daily News, quotes a state police expert as saying that thousands of speeding tickets have been written with defective radar guns. So defective that the expert said �they would clock a roadside rock at 70 mph�.

I wish I had a cartoon of a rock on the witness stand in a court trial right now.
